Integrating balance assessments into your pediatric service
Over the last few years there have been studies and publications identifying a clear need for balance testing to be integrated into care plans for children with sensorineural hearing loss. But with many pediatric audiologists not having specialist skills in vestibular assessment, the question often arises, what is the best way is to start to integrate vestibular assessment for infants and children? In this course, we will explore the tools available to clinicians and focus on how to get started with testing pediatric balance function. Focus will be placed on questionnaires and VEMP testing with practical tips on running these measurements in infants and children, with a discussion on rehabilitation options for children with vestibular hypofunction.
Presented by: Leigh Martin, Audiologist and Director of the Interacoustics Academy, and Darren Whelan, MSc MRes.
The course is free of charge and you will receive a certificate upon completion. We are working toward points accreditation with various governing bodies around the world, including the American Academy of Audiology.
Note: Once you have signed up to the course, you will be re-directed to the course and an email with your course access link will also be sent to your inbox.
