Getting started: Aided cortical testing
Newborn hearing screening and the correspondingly earlier provision of hearing aid amplification provides well understood benefits, however there remains a challenge in the process of validating the success of amplification in young infants. There has opened up a larger time gap between the point of amplification provision and the availability of behavioral testing, leading to lengthier periods of time before which validation can be performed behaviorally. In this session we will explore the benefit and utility of aided cortical evoked potential testing as a tool for assessing patients' access to speech sounds via their hearing instruments.
